The ingredients in Teager Balm and why they are so effective

About our Balm

Teager Balm uses a simple base and focusses on active ingredients, rather than a complicated base formula with few active ingredients. Teager Balm doesn’t include medicines or synthetic ingredients that you can’t pronounce but focusses on natural ingredients with proven effectiveness over hundreds of years.


Green Tea Extract

Green Tea is a common beverage with several benefits. One of which is proven to provide an effective and safe treatment for pain relief. It possesses antinociceptive effects which makes it an effective ingredient to include in Teager Balm. Many of the protective effects of green tea in terms of pain relief are attributed to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Why Is it effective?
Green Tea contains Epigallocatechin -3-gallate (EGCG), this component is effective in the management of pain through suppression of inflammations and oxidative stress. Green is also a rich source of Polyphenols, a natural compound that have strong anti-inflammatory properties helping in reducing inflammations. Another compound in green tea, known as Theanine plays an important role in reducing stress.


Camphor Oil

Camphor oil is extracted from the wood of camphor trees, known scientifically as Cinnamomum camphora has a variety of uses, one of which is its anti-inflammatory properties and strong aroma.

Why Is it effective?
Camphor Oil is aromatic and is popular in aromatherapy that can be easily absorbed through the skin providing pain relief and easing of skin irritation. It helps in treating muscle aches and pains, while stimulating circulation, by interacting with receptors on the sensory nerves. Studies show that camphor oil helped relieve lower back pain.


Clove Oil

This essential oil is derived from Clove trees known as Syzygium aromaticum, has a strong, spicy aroma, with many possible medical benefits topically as a pain relief.

Clove Oil consists of different chemicals, but one primary component is called Eugenol which has antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, and antineoplastic properties. This compound is a powerful antioxidant with high free radical scavenging activity when applied can reduce oxidative stress and help stimulate blood circulation. Applying Teager Balm that contains clove oil to joints and overworked muscles, may provide relief from soreness and swelling.
